An honor and a privilege

Howell Furniture is pleased to receive the Home Furnishing Association's (HFA) award of "Retailer of the Year" for 2019.

On January 6th in our Beaumont store, Executive Vice President of the HFA, Mark Schumacher, presented the prestigious award to Howell co-owners Wade Witt, Shawn Hanley, and long-time president, Tom Schwaab. The trophy presentation was part of a full day of celebration with the community,customers, friends, family, team members and local media.

“We are truly honored for this,” says Shawn Hanley. "We're passionate about everything we do here and it's a privilege to do it. It's 60 years of our family and our team members honoring our commitments of providing a good service at a good price and taking care of our communities..."

The Home Furnishing Association is North America’s largest home furnishings retailer organization and represents over 7,000 stores in the U.S. and beyond.

The "Retailer of the Year”" is selected by industry service providers, manufacturers, past winners, HFA members, and the HFA Board of Directors who judge retailers by a list of factors including customer experience, philanthropy and social responsibility, innovation, value to customers, and merchandising.

As the winner of the Large Retailer category, Howell Furniture proudly shares this with all our employees and our customers across our Beaumont, Mid County, and Lake Charles stores.

This award means a lot to our family company because we see it as a product of time, heritage, and innovation. The recognition is a symbol of our continued commitments of providing quality products with outstanding service.

2019 marked our 60th anniversary with much to celebrate. Throughout the decades, we’ve seen the industry expand, the markets evolve, and our communities excel in remarkable ways. It’s rewarding to be a part of the fabric of both Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana as we continue to serve.
